Thank you, Mr Chair.聽 We are closely monitoring the situation in T眉rkiye. This is an ongoing domestic Turkish legal process, and the UK expects T眉rkiye to uphold its international commitments and the rule of law, including swift and transparent judicial processes.聽

We have raised recent events with the Turkish Government and the Foreign Secretary spoke with Foreign Minister Fidan to raise the UK鈥檚 concern.聽

The UK is a staunch supporter of democracy, human rights and the rule of law across the world and will always support the fundamental rights to freedom of speech, peaceful assembly and media freedom.
