An effective and durable policy response to the current 鈥榤igration crisis鈥� in Europe requires a better understanding of the causes of migration more broadly. Much has been said about these causes, and possible solutions to the 鈥榗risis鈥�, often leading to conflicting messages and theories. To shine a light on these, this Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA) assesses the quality of the evidence available and identifies a number of clear conclusions.
