Role Summary | In this role you will contribute to delivering commercial excellence for your department through analysing key supply markets to understand the characteristics of new markets, and inform whether market making or development is required. The role is varied, you will conduct assessments of the business need and recommend the most appropriate market engagement approach to increase competition, promote innovation and improve 鈥榲alue for money鈥� in contracts. You will lead a team, building their confidence and commercial capability to drive performance and manage setbacks. The role will also require you to use your commercial expertise to identify opportunities for improvement and implement these changes at a local level by working with affected parties to identify and overcome challenges. |
Key Responsibilities | Typically, the key responsibilities in this role will include (but are not limited to): 鈼徧鼶riving and leading sourcing activity, including strategic sourcing processes in support of the department鈥檚 strategic aims 鈼徧鼺inalising and approving commercial arrangements, including final negotiation 鈼徧齊efining specification for complex requirements 鈼徧鼸ngaging stakeholders to develop a clear and agreed view of business requirements and target outcomes 鈼徧齅anaging and forecasting demand across area of responsibility 鈼徧鼵hallenging the sourcing strategy, where appropriate, to improve outcomes 鈼徧齈reparing, developing and commissioning business cases, where necessary, to demonstrate the value, benefits and risks of sourcing activity 鈼徧齊eviewing and challenging business cases to make sure they are fit for purpose 鈼徧齀mplementing appropriate project and programme management across area of responsibility 鈼徧鼳chieving the return on investment and improving costs and delivery certainty by managing resources and maximising the use of assets 鈼徧鼵onsidering key services and delivery objectives with stakeholders and implements appropriate contract and performance management regime within the terms and conditions 鈼徧鼶eveloping and instigating approaches with stakeholders to support collaborative commercial relationships using appropriate frameworks and standards 鈼徧齈roviding advice on market behaviour, shape and drivers to secure value 鈼徧鼵onsidering key financial, legal and commercial issues in the development of the contracting model and implements these within the terms and conditions 鈼徧鼳dvising on relevant regulations and compliance issues demonstrating a strong knowledge |
