This report investigates how聽benefits that arise from聽agglomeration are supported by improved connectivity of new or improved transport infrastructure. The theory underpinning these research recommendations can be applied to a wide variety of transport upgrades.
It focuses on the following themes:
- an explanation of聽agglomeration聽theory
- the 3 tools that can be used to strengthen agglomeration effects
- recommendations to increase these effects, including case studies
The report was also motivated by the opening of Crossrail, for which the 2007 business case estimated 拢7.3 billion in agglomeration benefits.
