This notice suspends the application of a trade remedies measure in the event the goods covered by the measure are also subject to a safeguarding measure.
Trade remedies measure suspended
The trade remedies measure applied by Taxation notice 2020/09: anti-dumping聽duty聽on聽high fatigue performance steel concrete reinforcement聽bars (rebar)聽originating in the People鈥檚 Republic of China is suspended and not to be charged if the goods to which the measure applies, on importation into the United Kingdom, are also subject to the charge of a safeguarding measure applied by Taxation notice 2020/06: safeguard measures on certain steel products 鈥� application of tariff rate quotas.
The effect of this suspension is that anti-dumping聽duty聽is charged on imports of聽high fatigue performance steel concrete reinforcement聽bars (rebar)聽originating in the People鈥檚 Republic of China until such time as the relevant import quota is exceeded; after such time only the safeguard duty is charged. Further details are set out in Annex 1.
Trade remedies measure application period unaffected
This notice does not suspend the period, to which the anti-dumping duty applies, that is specified in Taxation notice 2020/09: anti-dumping鈥痙uty鈥痮n鈥痟igh fatigue performance steel concrete reinforcement鈥痓ars (rebar)鈥痮riginating in the People鈥檚 Republic of China.
