This public notice is made by the Secretary of State under regulation 94D(2) of the Trade Remedies (Dumping and Subsidisation) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019[footnote 1] and suspends, in full or in part, the application of the anti-dumping duty on hot-rolled flat iron, non-alloy, or other alloy steel goods originating in Iran or Russia in relation to goods to which the tariff-rate quota on steel goods is also applicable.
Anti-dumping duty suspended
This notice relates to the additional amounts of import duty applicable to hot-rolled flat iron, non-alloy, or other alloy steel goods originating in Iran or Russia under:
(a) Taxation Notice 2020/17: Anti-dumping duty on certain hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy or other alloy steel originating in Brazil, Iran, the Russian Federation and Ukraine (鈥淭N 2020/17鈥�); and
(b) Trade Remedies Notice 2021/01: Tariff-rate quota on steel goods (鈥淭RN 2021/01鈥�).
If hot-rolled flat iron, non-alloy, or other alloy steel goods originating in Iran or Russia are subject to the additional amount of import duty under TRN 2021/01 (鈥渟afeguard duty鈥�) because the goods are imported outside of the quota allocated for goods category A (Non-alloy and other alloy hot-rolled sheet and strip), the additional amount of import duty applicable to the goods under TN 2020/17 (鈥渁nti-dumping duty鈥�) is suspended to the extent set out below.

NB: Hot-rolled flat iron, non-alloy, or other alloy steel goods originating in Brazil or Ukraine to which the anti-dumping is applicable are excluded from the safeguard duty in accordance with the limited exclusion for steel goods originating in developing countries or territories set out in TRN 2021/01.
Duration unaffected
This notice does not suspend or otherwise affect the period for which TN 2020/17 has effect in relation to hot-rolled flat iron, non-alloy, or other alloy steel goods.
Revocation of Suspension Notice 2020/08
Suspension Notice 2020/08: Countervailing duty on certain stainless steel bars and rods originating in India is revoked.
