The Houghton Club Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 33/205 which authorises the abstraction of water from un-named tributaries of the River Test at Stockbridge, Hampshire. The National Grid References are SU 3534 3504 and SU 3543 3502.
The variation applied for is to renew the increased quantities of: 3,500 cubic metres per hour, 84,000 cubic metres per day, 30,660,000 cubic metres per year from the original licence of 955 cubic metres per hour, 22,920 cubic metres per day, and 8,388.720 cubic metres per year.
The purpose of the abstraction is fish farming. All abstracted water is returned to the watercourse.
