An independent report by Trevor Doughty, Commissioner for Children鈥檚 Services in Surrey, to the Secretary of State for Education.
The report follows an published in May 2018 which judged the overall effectiveness of Surrey鈥檚 children鈥檚 social care services as 鈥榠nadequate鈥�.
The commissioner鈥檚 report recommends that the council retain control of the delivery of its children鈥檚 social care services, cooperating with the Department for Education鈥檚 (DfE) appointed commissioner for a further 12 months.
DfE issued a revised statutory direction to Surrey county council in October 2018.
