On 30-31 October 2018, the High Court heard a judicial review claim in the case of AM and K v SSHD, which considered changes to subsistence rates for potential victims of modern slavery. The judge found that the position since March 2018 was unlawful and affected individuals are entitled to a back payment.
You are entitled to a back payment if, at any point between 1 March 2018 and 8 November 2018 (both criteria below need to apply to you):
- you were receiving support through the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) as well as under section 4(2) or section 95 of the Asylum Support Regulations 2000
- you received less than 拢65 financial support in total per week
