This revised direction requires the council to continue taking steps to improve its children鈥檚 social care services. This includes co-operating with the Department for Education鈥檚 appointed adviser.

This direction follows an by the Commissioner for Children鈥檚 Services in Surrey published on 20 December 2019. The report recommended that the council should retain the operational control of its children鈥檚 services.

This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to the council in October 2018.
