On 1 August 2019, the Office of the National Data Guardian (NDG) received a request for any correspondence between the NDG and the Information Commissioner (ICO) regarding advice requested from the NDG by the ICO on the common law duty of confidentiality, as part of the ICO鈥檚 investigation into the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust鈥檚 data sharing arrangement with DeepMind for the testing of its app.
