Details

This prison service instruction (PSI) describes the actions a prison must take when releasing a prisoner with a travel restriction order.

It covers:

  • the need to inform HM Passport Office of the release date of a prisoner with a travel restriction order
  • the need to let UK Visas and Immigration know when a foreign national prisoner with a travel restriction order is due to be deported, released or moved to an immigration removal centre
  • the need to send any UK passports belonging to a prisoner with a travel restriction order to HM Passport Office

This is a current PSI. It came into effect on 15 June 2007.
