Deadline for registering to vote in the local elections in England

Register by 11:59pm on 11 April 2025 to vote in the local elections being held in England on 1 May 2025.

You can use this form to register to vote in England, Wales and Scotland if you鈥檙e either:

  • homeless or have no fixed address
  • a person who has been remanded in custody, but you have not yet been convicted of any offence
  • a patient in a mental health hospital

If you don鈥檛 have access to a printer, you can contact your聽electoral registration office聽and ask them for a form. You鈥檒l then need to return the completed form to your electoral registration office.

Registering to vote in Northern Ireland if you haven鈥檛 got a fixed or permanent address

There鈥檚 a different paper form if you鈥檙e聽. Return the form to the聽.

How to use this form

To register, you need to give an address where you would be living if it were not for your current situation or an address where you have lived in the past.

If you are homeless, you can give details of where you spend a substantial part of your time.

The form will ask for your National Insurance number (but you can still register if you do not have one).聽Find your National Insurance number.
