Details

A new domestic railway technical standards regime will replace the EU鈥檚 Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) while preserving their technical content. These National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs) have been published by the Secretary of State for Transport pursuant to regulation 3B of the and have effect from 1 January 2021. They are applicable in Great Britain only.

The Department for Transport (DfT) worked with the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) to create the National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs). show how the NTSNs differ from the corresponding TSIs.

  1. Infrastructure NTSN updated to include missing text in clause about rail fastening systems and remove redundant clause on abrupt change of cant deficiency. Safety in railway tunnel updated to include clauses on operation subsystem and operation of new rolling stock in existing tunnels.
