Role Summary | In this role you will contribute to delivering commercial excellence for your department by supporting procurement business analysis. You will be expected to analyse a wide range of information, data and market research in order to inform commercial options and decisions. You will work as part of a larger team, but will be expected to prioritise and manage your own workload to deliver to deadlines and know when to seek support in order to balance both operationally urgent and important tasks. |
Key Responsibilities | Typically, the key responsibilities in this role will include (but are not limited to): 鈼徧齋upporting the collation of data and information to inform decision on commercial models 鈼徧齏orking with internal and external stakeholders to gain insight into market trends e.g. academic research, cross-government functions 鈼徧齁ustifying and documenting the selection of a particular commercial option 鈼徧鼳ssessing the existing market dynamics, including concentration and competition within the marketplace 鈼徧齅onitoring all procurement systems and databases to ensure they are managed, maintained and that information is cleansed for accurate reporting 鈼徧鼵onducting stakeholder needs analysis with support 鈼徧齋upporting the gathering of requirements from across the business in line with market research 鈼徧鼵ontributing to the sourcing of new suppliers using market research for on-going tenders 鈼徧鼵hallenging the organisational need for the purchase especially where Corporate Social Responsibility or 鈥榲alue for money鈥� considerations suggest the procurement can be better channelled through existing assets or an existing contract 鈼徧齍ndertaking market research and benchmarking through desktop activities and stakeholder engagement in order to help assist the wider procurement team 鈼徧齋upporting pre-market engagement with suppliers 鈼徧齋upporting project management activities to include project planning and risk management |

Procurement Process: 鈼徧鼿as knowledge of all stages of the procurement process and understands the essentials of public procurement regulations Commercial Focus: 鈼徧鼿as a good understanding of the elementary economics factors that may determine a market shape, dynamics and models and can apply tools and techniques associated with gathering commercial data听 Risk and Assurance Management: 鈼徧鼶emonstrates the ability to identify possible risks, understands their impact, use appropriate mitigation techniques and escalates where appropriate听 Commercial Ethics: 鈼徧鼿as an understanding of the standards to eliminate corruption, fraud and unethical behaviour in supply chains and can take action in the event of any alleged breach of standards Team Focus: 鈼徧鼶emonstrates the ability to work as part of a team to support their resilience and performance Build Relationships: 鈼徧鼿as good stakeholder management skills and has the ability to use different communication styles with different audiences |
