The government has announced that it will no longer use PF2, the current model of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) for new government projects. Existing PFI and PF2 contracts will not end because of this announcement.

Private Finance 2 (PF2) is a new approach to public private partnerships, and follows the reform of the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). PF2 reaffirms the government鈥檚 commitment to private sector involvement in infrastructure and services, while recognising recent changes to the economic context.
