The Energy Act 2010 obtained Royal Assent on 8 April 2010. The Act contains the legislative provisions required to implement elements of 鈥楾he UK Low Carbon Transition Plan 鈥� National strategy for climate and energy (2009)鈥�.
This memorandum provides a preliminary assessment of the Energy Act 2010 and has been prepared by the Department of Energy and Climate Change for submission to the Energy and Climate Change Committee. It is published as part of the process set out by the previous Government in the document Post Legislative Scrutiny 鈥� The Government鈥檚 Approach (Cm 7320).
