Use these documents and tools to understand more about the work the Public Health England (PHE) reproductive health programme has been carrying out during 2020 and 2021 鈥� and how this integrates with the upcoming women鈥檚 and sexual and reproductive health strategies. 鈥楳easuring population reproductive health: developing a new indicator set鈥� describes a new suite of reproductive health indicators developed via a consensus process with a steering group of experts in 2020.

鈥楨虫迟别苍诲颈苍驳 PHE鈥檚 contraception return on investment tool: maternity and primary care settings鈥� outlines a new return on investment (ROI) model for contraception in maternity and the provision of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) in primary care, building on the existing contraception ROI tool published in 2018.

The accompanying spreadsheet tool can be adjusted by users to model the costs and benefits of existing and future scenarios in a local, regional, or national context. A strong ROI is demonstrated in both settings. For every 拢1 invested in the maternity intervention, there is a saving of 拢32 for the public sector. Investment in the provision of additional LARC by GPs has even greater potential cost savings, with an ROI of 拢48 for every 拢1 invested.
