The 鈥楴ational Service Framework for Diabetes鈥� sets quality standards for diabetes care. The standards aim to improve care for people with diabetes in England and to improve the quality of services.
The framework for diabetes will:
- help people manage their insulin use around their lifestyle
- ensure dedicated nurses on hospital wards to reduce the length of stay in hospital and cut the number of complications
- create diabetes clinics to bring together specialist expertise and services, including foot care and eye screening
