Details

Explains the government鈥檚 responses to the Low Pay Commission (LPC) recommendations. The LPC has recommended that the hourly rates for the national minimum wage (NMW) should increase in October 2014:

  • the rate for adults should increase from 拢6.31 to 拢6.50
  • the development rate which covers workers aged 18 to 20 years old should increase from 拢5.03 to 拢5.13
  • the rate for 16 to 17 year olds should increase from 拢3.72 to 拢3.79
  • the apprentice rate should increase from 拢2.68 to 拢2.73

The government accepts these recommendations in full.
