Details

The Low Pay Commission (LPC) has recommended that the hourly rates should increase in April 2019:

  • from 拢7.83 to 拢8.21 for workers aged 25 and over (the National Living Wage)
  • from 拢7.38 to 拢7.70 for 21-24 year olds
  • from 拢5.90 to 拢6.15 for 18-20 year olds
  • from 拢4.20 to 拢4.35 for 16-17 year olds
  • from 拢3.70 to 拢3.90 for apprentices aged under 19 or in the first year of their apprenticeship.

The government accepts these recommendations, and this document sets out its response.
