Agenda Item 1 鈥� Welcome and introductions
Brian Bell opened the meeting and welcomed the attendees.
Agenda Item 2 鈥� Home Office, MAC Secretariat and MAC updates, plus minutes from previous meeting
A Home Office representative outlined the announcements on the Student route following the publication of the MAC鈥檚 Graduate route review. They have engaged in joint working with other government departments to determine what the government is doing in the labour market space and how this relates to immigration.
Holly White provided an update on the Secretariat鈥檚 workplan. This included progressing with the Seasonal Worker visa inquiry and the MAC鈥檚 2024 Annual Report.
Brian Bell summarised the reception of the MAC鈥檚 rapid review of the Graduate route among stakeholders and the media. Brian met with the immigration minister and the Shadow Home Secretary.
Agenda Item 3 鈥� Seasonal worker review
A member of the Secretariat outlined the new publication schedule for the MAC鈥檚 Seasonal Worker visa inquiry and also posed a series of key questions to the committee ahead of final drafting. The Committee agreed on a publication timescale.
Agenda Item 4 鈥� Graduate route: Revealing Reality report
A member of the Secretariat requested Committee feedback on Revealing Reality鈥檚 draft version of its primary research report into the Graduate route.
Agenda Item 5 鈥� Devolved Nations briefing
A member of the Secretariat gave an update on activity within and the Secretariat鈥檚 recent engagement with the Devolved Nations.
Agenda Item 6 鈥� Graduate route: lessons learned
A member of the Secretariat highlighted key questions for the Committee based on the Secretariat鈥檚 lessons learned meeting following the MAC鈥檚 Graduate route rapid review. This resulted in discussion around rapid reviews, the approach to stakeholder engagement, and overall committee reflections.
Agenda Item 7 鈥� Future MAC strategy and planning
The Committee and members of the Secretariat held a planning discussion regarding the MAC鈥檚 future workplan and strategy.

Brian and the Committee thanked two members of the Secretariat who will be leaving their posts in the near future.
