Details

The feasibility study considers options for improving access to Leeds Bradford International Airport. The study was undertaken by the consultancy firms WSP and Parsons Brinckerhoff, with local input provided by a stakeholder reference group. The government鈥檚 brief specified that this study should consider improved access by road, rail and bus.

The 鈥極ption assessment report鈥� describes the process of selecting and assessing options for improving access to Leeds Bradford International Airport. It concludes with the consultants鈥� recommendation on which options should be subject to further consideration in both the short to medium term and the longer term.

The 鈥楢ppraisal specification report鈥� considers what further work would be required to take forward the recommended options.

This study began on 1 April 2014 and concluded in November 2014.

The government has now responded to this study in the 2014 Autumn Statement.

Addendum

The 鈥極ption assessment report鈥� includes details of transport schemes which have now been superseded.

Background to the Leeds Bradford International Airport feasibility study

Following the 2013 Spending Review, government announced it would undertake 6 feasibility studies into long-standing problems on England鈥檚 roads to identify potential schemes. One of the proposed studies was to consider access improvements to Leeds Bradford International Airport.

The other 5 feasibility studies are considering issues on the strategic road network.
