These 鈥楶rinciples for Global Action鈥� have been developed with contributions from over 120 experts, governments, non-governmental organisations and civil society. It is a practical guide that aims to raise awareness among policy makers of the challenges, issues and sensitivities of stigma from a survivor鈥檚 perspective.
The Principles for Global Action is the primary output of the end stigma campaign thus far following intense collaboration and consultation with the international community. The principles are intended as a useful tool in suggesting potential steps which could be taken such as judicial reform, media standards and monitoring.
Following on from the principles, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office has held 9 stigma workshops so far in conflict affected countries in 2017. The workshops aimed to further understanding of the specific dynamics of the stigma of conflict-related sexual violence on a personal, community and structural level. Non-governmental organisations, United Nations agencies or British diplomats facilitated the workshops and the findings have been compiled into individual country reports.
