This research explores the effect of uncertainties in the delivery, scope and timing of major transport infrastructure on land development.

This can cause 鈥榝riction鈥� within the land development market, especially if property and land developments involving transport infrastructure do not happen in the way that they were planned.

It consists of 3 parts:聽

  • a literature review聽of land market frictions
  • a case study聽Barking riverside聽and land friction
  • understanding land market friction

This research was conducted by CEPA economics and Professor Alexander Lord on behalf of the Department for Transport.
