Details
Under , wild birds kept in captivity must be registered with the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). This applies to all bird species listed in Schedule 4 of the Act.
The bird must be registered at the address where it is kept, and the bird must have a unique identification mark such as closed leg ring or microchip.

This application form should be used to register:
- wild birds which have been imported into the UK but the keeper does not know where the bird originally came from
- peregrines and merlins with an Article 10 issued by another EU country in line with CITES regulations.
- birds which were registered but the the blue registration document is missing
The Article 10 certificate is not valid for registration in the UK. Birds, other than peregrines and merlins, must be registered with a blue registration document.
