You can apply and pay for the no objection statement online and the British Embassy Washington will send it to the US Department of State.
Download and complete the J1 application form. You can edit the form online or print and complete it and upload a scan or photo.
To apply online you鈥檒l need the following:
- your UK passport聽
- case file number and third party barcode page from the聽
- completed application form
This service is for J1 exchange visa holders who need a statement of no objection to seek a waiver of the 2-year home residency requirement as specified in Section 212(e) of the United States Immigration and Nationality Act.聽
We can only provide a statement of no objection to the US Department of State if you have a UK passport. If you do not hold a UK passport, contact the embassy of the country who issued your passport.
