Details

Ofsted will use the single inspection framework (SIF) for some re-inspections of inadequate children鈥檚 services. From 2018 Ofsted will use a new framework and guidance for most inspections of local authority children鈥檚 services (ILACS).

The single inspection framework has the framework and evaluation schedule for inspecting services for children in need of help and protection, looked after children and care leavers.

The child level data document is additional guidance and an example template for Annex A. It will help a local authority provide data lists for their inspection. Full details are in Annex A of the framework and the inspection handbook.
