Request

The number of women currently working in the Department for Education. Also, could you let me know how women鈥檚 pay compares to the men鈥檚 pay in detail, ie not just averages? How many people earn how much in, say, each 拢10,000 band of the pay scale, and within each of those bands how many people are men or women?

Response

As the department is structured by grade bands rather than a continuous pay scale, we have provided the information requested by grade band and included details of the pay scales for each grade band.

Figures are provided as at 28 February 2013.
