In September 2015, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), European Commission’s Directorate-General for competition and Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) organised an academic conference on the deterrence and macroeconomic impact of competition authorities� work.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss:
- the ways the work of competition authorities impacts consumers and the economy over and above the direct impact of their interventions
- methodologies that could be used to assess the total effect of competition authorities� work
