The health infrastructure plan (HIP) will deliver a long-term, rolling 5-year programme of investment in health infrastructure, including capital to:
- build new hospitals
- modernise the primary care estate
- improve mental health facilities
- invest in new diagnostics and technology
- help eradicate critical safety issues in the NHS estate

A correction has been made to the table on page 20: the investment in new diagnostic screening equipment is 拢200m not 拢250m. In the first table in Annex A, the column heading 'Site' has been changed to 'Proposed sites' for the hospitals to be developed in HIP1.
