Details

The Draft Parliamentary Buildings (Restoration and Renewal) Bill was published in October 2018 and was scrutinised by a joint committee of MPs and peers. was published in March 2019.

In consultation with Parliament, the government gave serious consideration to all of the committee鈥檚 recommendations on the bill, accepting many of them in full. We continue to give some of the committee鈥檚 recommendations further consideration.

We are committed to introducing the bill as soon as possible, so that the Palace of Westminster can be secured as the home of the UK Parliament for future generations.
