Details

In May 2024 the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP)听聽to look at:

  • whether river basin management plans to improve England鈥檚 water bodies will meet the 鈥榚nvironmental objectives鈥� under the water framework directive (WFD) regulations
  • the effectiveness of the regulations, their implementation and how they interact with other laws and policies

An initial response in July advised Parliament that the response would be delayed due to the General Election. The government response was published in September 2024.
