All the data in this paper are taken from Global Burden of Disease Study 2017 (GBD 2017) results (Seattle, United States: Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), 2018). Available on .
The study provides modelled health intelligence.
The data set out in the document were made available to NHS England when producing their 10-year plan.
This document compares England to 22 other countries, and sets out:
- the relative position of England compared with 22 international peers in relation to the major disease burdens
- which diseases and risk factors in England are or are not improving
- diseases and risks improving at a faster, or slower rate compared to peer countries The paper compares England with both EU and non-EU countries.
