An assessment of the effect that the proposals in Charlie Taylor鈥檚 鈥業mproving alternative provision鈥� report will have on groups with relevant protected characteristics.

The relevant protected characteristics, identified in the Equality Act 2010, include:

  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race
  • religion or belief
  • sex and sexual orientation

Alternative provision settings provide education for children who can鈥檛 go to a mainstream school.
