This is the sixth and final annual report from Forensic Science Regulator Dr Gillian Tully CBE. This report is divided into 2 parts, between them covering the span of Dr Tully鈥檚 tenure.

Part A of the report reflects on progress that has been made against the Regulator鈥檚 aims since the start of her tenure in November 2014 and considers what remains to be addressed.

Part B of the report considers in more detail the final year of Dr Tully鈥檚 tenure between 17 November 2019 and 16 November 2020. This part of the report:

  • informs stakeholders of the Regulator鈥檚 priorities, progress and plans
  • evaluates achievements over the period
  • identifies where further work is required
  • identifies the main risks to the quality of forensic science
