AI Upskilling fund: webinar privacy noticeÌý

This privacy notice sets out how we will collect and process your personal data, and your rights, if you are registering for the AI Upskilling fund webinar and Q&A on 1 August 2024. The notice is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).ÌýÌý

This notice relates to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) AI Upskilling fund pilot scheme, which aims to promote artificial intelligence (AI) upskilling in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).ÌýÌýÌý

For the purposes of the UK GDPR, DSIT is the controller for the personal information we process under UK GDPR, unless otherwise stated.Ìý

We will ask you to provide your personal data on the webinar registration form and will process the following data:ÌýÌý

  • effectively promote, deliver and monitor the AI Upskilling fund pilot schemeÌý

The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR ¾±²õ:ÌýÌý

6 (1) (e) Public task: Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller, in this case to invite you to the AI Upskilling fund webinar and Q&A, and share any relevant details following the event.Ìý

¸é±ð³¦¾±±è¾±±ð²Ô³Ù²õÌý

The AI Upskilling fund pilot is delivered in collaboration with Government Grant Managed Service (GGMS). GGMS is provided by a third-party delivery partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), with Cabinet Office oversight. Your personal data may also be shared with PwC. It will not be shared with any other third party, unless we are required to do so by law, for example by court order or to prevent fraud or other crime.Ìý

As part of our IT infrastructure, your personal data will be stored on systems provided by our data processors - Microsoft and Amazon web services. This does not mean we actively share your personal data with these entities; rather, they are technical service providers who host infrastructure supporting our IT systems.Ìý

Your personal information will be kept for 1 year following your registration. We retain this information for administrative purposes and to keep you informed of the progress of the scheme.Ìý

  • request information about how your personal data is processed, and to request a copy of that personal data
  • request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay
  • request that any incomplete personal data is completed, including by means of a supplementary statement
  • request that your personal data is erased if there is no longer a justification for it to be processed.
  • request that the processing of your personal data is restricted in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) Ìý
  • object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposesÌý
  • object to the processing of your personal data
