How the Forestry Commission will apply the 2024 rate uplifts to England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO) applications and agreements.

Details
On 18 March 2024 the Forestry Commission announced new payments and increased rates for existing payments for聽EWCO聽as follows:
- low sensitivity land payment: a new payment to encourage聽EWCO聽applications on low sensitivity land for woodland creation, paid at 拢1,100 per hectare
- Nature Recovery 鈥� premium: a new payment option added to the Nature Recovery Additional Contribution (AC), to encourage the creation of highly biodiverse woodlands next to ancient woodlands, paid at 拢3,300 per hectare
- increased rates for existing聽ACs: the rates of all聽ACs聽have been increased, except for the High and Low Nature Recovery聽ACs
- increased rate for maintenance payments: rising to 拢400 per hectare per year (previously 拢350 per hectare per year)
