This direction has now closed. A revised direction issued on 10 June 2018 by the Department for Education (DfE) replaces it.
This direction requires the council to take steps to improve its children鈥檚 social care services, including co-operating with the Department for Education鈥檚 appointed Children鈥檚 Services Commissioner.
The government has appointed a Children鈥檚 Services Commissioner for Northamptonshire, following a , published 13 November 2018, which found that services had significantly deteriorated since inspection in 2016.
