Under the 鈥榃ater Protection Zone (River Dee Catchment) (Procedural and Other Provisions) Regulations 1999鈥�, you need consent (permission) to carry out a 鈥榗ontrolled activity鈥� in the River Dee Water Protection Zone. A Water Protection Zone is an area where certain activities (storing or using controlled substances) are banned or restricted to reduce the risk of polluting drinking water.

The guidance notes includes a map showing which parts of the river Dee catchment are a 鈥榩rotected area鈥�.
