The Strategic Assessment informs the CMA鈥檚 medium term priorities and helps the CMA focus its discretionary work.

It has been published alongside the CMA鈥檚 consultation on its annual plan.

It considers specific risks and challenges in:

  • online markets and the digital economy
  • emerging sectors/business models and high technology
  • regulated sectors and infrastructure markets
  • public services markets

It looks at factors that may inhibit consumers鈥� ability to access markets/their decision-making. In addition, whilst not identifying specific risks, it provides a view of markets of potential interest, given their economic significance.
