Details

A high priority for schools is to close gaps in attainment between pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds and their peers.

This report summarises the outcomes and learning for system leaders from a research project in 2012. National leaders of education and teaching school alliances worked together to support:

  • other schools to close gaps in attainment
  • the progress of pupils eligible for free school meals

Examples from case studies explain the work that was undertaken.
