Details

These candidate briefings look at the national context for police and crime commissioners, covering the role of government departments and relevant agencies, and some important strands of operational (public order and international police assistance) and administrative work.

They also give guidance to police and crime commissioner candidates on how to work with these particular bodies as part of their role.

The briefings on reducing bureaucracy and value for money set out the work that is being carried out centrally to support the streamlining of policing, including appropriate engagement with the private sector.
