Release

DfE uses a non-consolidated (non-pensionable) amount of the pay bill to reward exceptional performance. The amount spent on such rewards has fallen by nearly 拢500,000 since 2009 to 2010. Please note that awards paid in 2012 to 2013 related to the performance of 2011 to 2012.

In the financial year 2012 to 2013:

  • the total net cost of the senior civil servant (SCS) and grade 6 (G6) and below awards was 拢1,516,250 - this is down from 拢1.98 million in 2009 to 2010
  • 892 awards were made to G6 and below staff and 44 awards to SCS staff, compared to 1,434 staff receiving an award in 2009 to 2010
  • the highest award paid was 拢12,500
