This report presents findings from a 3 year quality of life study conducted at HMP Birmingham following its transfer from the public sector to G4S in 2011. Detailed surveys of staff and prisoners鈥� perceptions of their quality of life, interviews and observations were conducted in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in order to evaluate the impact of this transition.
