On Monday 6 December 2010, Jeremy Hunt and Ed Vaizey launched the Government’s National Broadband Strategy: “Britain’s Superfast Broadband Futureâ€�.Ìý
The strategy sets out the Government’s vision for broadband in the UK, which is to ensure the UK has the best superfast broadband network in Europe by 2015 at the same time we announced the availability of £50m of the next wave of funding for superfast broadband projects.Ìý

This guidance document explains the nature and purpose of the BDUK Broadband Delivery Project and provides advice to local authorities and other public bodies on how to bid for funds in the Spring 2011 Award Round and thereafter.Ìý
We want communities and local authorities to have a say in how these networks will be built.Ìý By putting the people who will eventually use the infrastructure in a position to shape it, we can bridge the gap between competition and investment.Ìý
