The establishment of the Bass Management Group was a main commitment of the bass fisheries management plan (FMP) published in December 2023. 

The group meets quarterly, or more often if needed. Views and recommendations from any sub-groups will be brought to the group for review, with all final decisions taken by Defra.    �
