Directions under section 31A of the Registered Designs Act given in relation to design forms for requesting a formal written statement of grounds and for appealing against a decision to the Appointed Person

  1. The registrar has given the following Directions under section 31A of the Registered Designs Act 1949 (鈥渢he Act鈥�).

  2. These Directions direct the use of new forms:

    * form DF5 for requesting a formal written statement of the reasons for the registrar鈥檚 decision where such a statement has not already been provided, as set out in Schedule 1 (PDF, 575KB) to these Directions

    * form DF55 for appealing against the registrar鈥檚 decision to the Appointed Person, as set out in Schedule 2,(PDF, 554KB) to these Directions

  3. These Directions come into force on 6 April 2015.
