This draft instrument amends to update references to on common rules in the field of civil aviation to reflect the repeal of this regulation and its replacement with .

The amendments are to update:

  • cross references in relation to areas such as aircraft categories and flexibility provisions
  • the definition of 鈥榯he basic regulation鈥�

The present draft instrument will ensure The Air Navigation Order 2016 operates as intended and accurately cites the current retained EU legislation.

The draft legislation was released via a written ministerial statement on 24 January 2022.
