The strategy 鈥楽ecuring a Healthy Future鈥� outlines the essential functions needed of APHA鈥檚 veterinary and technical services. It looks ahead to the next 5 to 10 years and considers what is likely to change and what may remain the same.

It sets out:

  • why the services provided by government veterinarians are needed in Great Britain
  • how APHA鈥檚 veterinary and technical work will change and adapt over the next 5 years
  • the skills needed to meet the challenges of future animal disease risks.

It is structured around the themes of purpose, people and proficiency and looks at APHA鈥檚 main areas of veterinary activity and influence.
